Altheda Medical Center is a fast-growing, multi-specialty outpatient medical practice dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to local communities. Our primary care services span family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics , supported by behavioral and mental health services, wellness programs, and specialized medical exams (including immigration and DOT exams).

Role Overview:

The Business Assistant role is ideal for undergraduate students or recent graduates with a STEM background who want to gain exposure to the operational, clinical, and business aspects of outpatient healthcare.

In this role, you will support day-to-day operations, assist leadership with cross-functional projects, and contribute to Altheda’s mission of delivering high-quality, community-based care. Whether you’re considering medical school, PA school, nursing, psychology, or other healthcare careers , this role provides direct clinical exposure and business operations experience to strengthen your professional foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hands-On Operations & Administration:

  • Support patient-facing workflows, including scheduling, intake, documentation, and insurance eligibility checks.
  • Learn and work within electronic health records (EHR) and other clinic operations systems.

2. Project Coordination:

  • Assist leadership with implementing new service lines, community outreach initiatives, and operational improvements.
  • Track deliverables using structured project management tools and provide concise status updates.

3. Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with medical assistants, healthcare administrators, and providers to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Gain exposure to clinical workflows while supporting business and administrative functions.

4. Marketing, Outreach & Community Engagement

  • Participate in initiatives to connect with local schools, hospitals, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Support outreach campaigns to raise awareness of Altheda’s services in the community.

5. Process Improvement & Professional Development

  • Observe operational workflows and identify gaps that impact efficiency or patient experience.
  • Shadow leadership to understand how business and clinical decisions are made in a multi-specialty medical setting.
